Budding Fiction Contest
Call for Submissions
|
Publio magazine aims to recognize outstanding achievement in creative writing in the categories of poetry, short fiction and essay.
Originality, clarity of meaning and an application form are the main prerequisites to enter Publio's Budding Fiction contest, along with the following rules:
CATEGORIES
Short fiction: 3,000 words maximum
Essay: 2,000 words maximum
Poetry: One poem (any style)
ELIGIBILITY
Open to non-professional authors only (i.e. author does not make a living from writing in the category of submission).
Submissions must be neither previously published nor accepted for publication anywhere else, electronically or in print.
Only one submission per category per contestant.
One application form per contestant must be completed.
FORMAT
Only electronic submissions in a Word document attached to an email message.
No post office mail submissions.
DEADLINE
All submissions must be received by 30 Sep. 2009.
Three finalists are selected in each category.
First place appears in-print in Publio.
Second and third places appear online.

All rights revert back to contestants who are non-finalists. Entries will be screened for proper submission procedures and will be rejected if they do not meet the general eligibility or the specific entry requirements.
